Tip: Selecting Objects in Bricscad, CAD Software

Odds are that you have opened a received dwg, and initially everything looks to be ok, but on doing a zoom extents find that the drawing disappears on you.

The reason for this is usually drawing object artifacts that have been unintentionally placed a long way from the actual drawing area. To fix you are then forced to play a game of hunt the dots to try and work out where your drawing is.

An alternative is to make use of some of the additional selection options provided by Bricscad.

In the case of our problem drawing, we can return to our original view and utilize the “Outside Window” option to select all the objects outside our drawing area, and then simply erase them.

Thus creating an easy fix to our otherwise lengthy game of hide and seek.
